Patriot Anglers

Fishing can be good for the soul. There is something about the stillness and beauty that are therapeutic. It’s something that Patriot Anglers is tapping into as it helps veterans. Patriot Anglers works to help those veterans still fighting battles, years after leaving the military. The fishing facilitates not only fun, but so many conversations between the groups. Conversations that can be fun and full or laughter, but also lead to tears and healing. Beau Saunders of Beau’s Guide Service, a veteran himself, hosts five groups each year on the Little Red River. These are hosted free of charge because he knows these veterans need to experience the healing that fishing can bring. We are humbled to present the Saluting Heroes award to Patriot Anglers.
