Victory Over Violence Difference Makers – Immerse Arkansas
When a child ages out of the foster system in Arkansas they are often left without a support system. Immerse Arkansas saw the need to assist almost 200 kids a year and help them with the next phase of life. Some young adults have not yet completed high school and are challenged by the next stage of life as a soon to be adult. Immerse Arkansas not only helps foster children, but also youth in crisis, homeless, and runaways. The program provides housing, life skills, basic resources, a place to heal, and surrounds kids with people who care about them. The work that Immerse Arkansas does to change the direction of so many young lives in Arkansas is why they are this month’s Difference Makers.
The Difference Makers award is in conjunction with the Victory Over Violence campaign launched by KARK Channel 4 and Fox 16. Once a month, Rainwater, Holt & Sexton presents a $1,000 donation to an organization fighting violence in the community and has established themselves as a true Difference Maker. The partnership goal is to create a safer Central Arkansas by uniting community groups promoting change through improvements in education, jobs, mentoring, and hunger.
