Denise Hoggard Sworn in as Arkansas Bar President
Rainwater, Holt & Sexton had the distinct honor of watching one of our own, Denise Reid Hoggard, be sworn in as president of the Arkansas Bar Association on Friday, June 17. Arkansas Supreme Court Chief Justice Howard Brill presided over the swearing-in ceremony at the Arkansas Bar annual meeting in Hot Springs.
Ms. Hoggard will serve as the bar president thru May of 2017, as well as continuing her work at Rainwater, Holt & Sexton.
“As I took the oath just now I gave thanks for the opportunity to serve each of you through your bar association” said Ms. Hoggard after the swearing-in to Arkansas Bar members. “We must all be guardians of justice for the people of this great state we serve, be faithful to your association and be active in advancing its mission. Together we are the voice of the Arkansas lawyer advocating for our state,” she added later.
Several Rainwater, Holt & Sexton attorneys, including Mike Rainwater and Bob Sexton, were on hand for the bar meeting and swearing in of Ms. Hoggard.
Ms. Hoggard is one of 25 attorneys at Rainwater, Holt & Sexton and currently heads up the litigation department in the firm. In her Presidents role with the Arkansas Bar Association she will head up an association of more than 5,000 Arkansas lawyers in their mission of advancing the cause of justice in Arkansas.
