Laura Beth York
Arkansas Injury Attorney
Laura Beth York moved to Arkansas when she was 10 years old. She grew up in Conway, Arkansas and was fortunate enough to attend Hendrix College in her hometown. She stayed in Arkansas and obtained her law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law. Following graduation, she took a chance and moved to South Carolina with her husband, where she worked as an attorney at Legal Aid for almost two years before the opportunity arose for she and her husband to move back to Arkansas.
Laura Beth knew that she wanted to practice in the area of workers’ compensation when her father was injured at work. It was a career ending injury, and it was her first year of law school. It was a life changing moment for her and her family. When she moved back to Arkansas, she immediately went to work at the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission, writing opinions at the Full Commission.
Helping injured workers’ is not only a passion for Laura Beth, but also keeps her rooted in an area of the law that needs personal understanding about what each claimant experiences. Laura Beth knew that by choosing to work at Rainwater, Holt & Sexton, she would be able to not only help injured workers’ navigate the waters of the workers’ compensation system, but she would also be able to help them by utilizing the legal resources that a larger firm is able to offer, such as advice on Social Security Disability, Bankruptcy, or whether their claim falls outside of the workers’ compensation system.
In her spare time, Laura Beth is an active member of her church, Christ the King Catholic Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. She enjoys going on adventures with her husband and two children, including hiking, kayaking, and golf. Of course, Saturdays in the Fall are reserved for cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks!
